Currently On Kickstarter: The Out Of Hand Tarot (Pocket Edition)

Just a quick post to say that one of my favourite decks, the Out of Hand Tarot, is available again! You can back a pocket version of the deck on Kickstarter.

Sadly, after the artist and creator Jamie Sawyer finished the campaign for the original deck, and sold out all her stock, it was counterfeited. My review of the original deck is the *most* visited page on my website each month, which shows how popular the deck is! However, none of the money goes to Sawyer when people buy counterfeit copies of the deck, and this SUCKS. So, if you like the deck, please buy it from the artist!

After a successful initial campaign in 2022 and then selling out of our original version… the unspeakable happened. Counterfeit copies of our beloved deck hit the usual markets. So, I did what all deck creators do, sounded the alarms, spoke with lawyer friends and issued takedown notices… only to be greeted with new listings and more clones.  I began distancing myself from my creation, it broke my heart.  (Please note if you have a copy of the Out of Hand that came in a tuck box with no book and no yellow edges… yours is, sadly, a fake)

Take the power back. Instead of focusing on the negative, I chose to listen to the desire of reclaiming the energy… wanting to re-establish a connection with the deck, I began to envision revisiting it in some way.  Making it stand alone from the original, similar yet different.  A pocket deck is the perfect solution, as well as being an amazing little travel companion.  It’s portable, has the ability to deliver messages with more cards without needing a huge table space.
