Mass Market Tarot Deck Reviews
Sometimes the classics really do slap. This page is home to all my reviews of massmarket Tarot decks – the ones you can actually find in a bookshop, or that your bestie might pick up for you from the Evil Online Store Whose Name Shall Not Be Mentioned. But don’t be fooled by the easy access: some of these decks are absolute powerhouses.
Whether you’re a beginner looking for something solid and affordable, or a longtime reader curious about the latest indie deck to pick up a second mass market run, I’ve got you.
My Favourite Mass Market Decks (So Far…)
- The Unveiled Tarot – Dark, narrative, political
- The Curious Travels Tarot Deck – Lyrical, evocative, enchanting
- MindScapes Tarot – Painterly, poetic, profound
- The Light Seer’s Tarot – Intutitive, luminous, accessible
- The Universal Folk Tarot – Whimsical, symbolic, reflective
- The Erenberg Tarot – Bold, vintage, playful
Why Mass Market Deserves Love
I know, I know. It’s tempting to think indie = better. But mass market decks:
- Are easier to find and gift
- Often have guidebooks that are beginner-friendly
- Frequently offer high production quality for the price
- Can surprise you with their emotional resonance and imagery depth
It’s also worth noting that a few successful indie and Kickstarted decks end up getting picked up by mass market publishers for a second largescale print run.
A good deck doesn’t have to be rare to be powerful.
How I Choose What To Review
I’m not sponsored (unless clearly stated), and all the decks I’ve reviewed so far have been purchased with my own hard-earned cash (I’ll tag clearly if I ever get sent a review copy). The decks here caught my eye for their:
- Artistic merit
- Thoughtful structure
- Striking or novel symbolism
- Representation & diversity
- Weird, witchy, or wonderful vibes
If you’ve found a mass market deck that really moved you, let me know! I’m always curious what treasures are hiding on people’s shelves.
