Currently On Kickstarter: The Liminal Tarot Deck

    December 31, 2025 /

A quick & dirty love letter to The Liminal Tarot: an eerie, charcoal-drawn indie deck living in Tarot’s threshold spaces. With just over a day left on Kickstarter, this is a genuinely original deck for readers who like their symbolism strange, unsettled, and alive.

Deck Review: The Cards Drawn Tarot

    October 27, 2025 /

The Cards Drawn Tarot feels like the kind of deck you’d read with in a smoky medieval tavern: clever, cheeky, and just a little bit dangerous. Clint Woods’ design fuses Tarot and playing card archetypes into a winking, whip-smart system that reads like a bard spinning truths by firelight: trickster energy with real insight beneath the jester’s grin. Buddhist philosophy meets card-table mischief, and somehow it works :-).

    Deck Review: Far-Out Tarot

    April 14, 2025 /

This is a deck you don’t just read, you visit it. The Far-Out Tarot creates a sense of permission: to pause, to retreat, to be thoughtful rather than decisive. It won me over completely, offering Tarot as care, imagination, and psychological shelter - a place I genuinely want to return to again and again.

    Deck Review: Nigredo Tarot Deck

    March 26, 2025 /

This is one of the most personal and emotionally resonant decks I own. The Nigredo Tarot doesn’t soften the work of shadow integration, but it approaches it with empathy and intelligence. Best suited to self-reflection rather than performance reading, it’s a deck that asks a lot - and gives just as much back.

Deck Review: The Ink Witch Tarot

    May 10, 2024 /

The Ink Witch Tarot by Eric Maille was on my wishlist for a while, but never made the “ok, I’ll buy it” cut. I knew it was a deck that got a lot of love in the Tarot community, and I thought the art was very accomplished, but I’m not really in to (largely) monochrome decks, and so always felt a bit luke-warm about it. Then I saw the Two of Wands card on someone’s Insta and was like “huh, that’s such a smart interpretation”. I looked at a whole deck flip through on YouTube and thought a lot of the artwork was super interesting in its take on the…

Deck Review: The Twice Told Tarot

    July 15, 2023 /

I fell in love with the Twice Told Tarot when I saw it on Kickstarter last year, and immediately backed it. Created by Travis McHenry, alongside artist David Scaglione, its quirky style really appealed to me. Unfortunately the Kickstarter was cancelled – boo. But then the deck was included as a possible add-on to McHenry’s next project, the True Oracle of Nostradamus – hooray! So I bought the TOoN just to get my hands on the Twice Told Tarot (as I thought that would be the only way to get hold of a copy). Turns out you can currently pick up a copy via the Bloodstone Studios online store –…
