Shag, Marry, Push Off A Cliff: I’m on the Boner & Mirror Tarot Podcast!

I was delighted to be invited onto the Boner & Mirror Tarot podcast by my new Portsmouth-Tarot-friend Molly, creator of Bone and Mirror Tarot. (This is very exciting. Local Tarot friends are the best!)

Boner & Mirror is the cheeky little sibling of Molly’s more serious Tarot work, and is built around one extremely important question: which Tarot card would you hook up with, which would you marry, and which would you push off a cliff?

Obviously, this combines three of my main interests: Tarot, sex and sexuality, and pushing people off cliffs, ahem, criminology – so it was an absolute delight to take part.

Molly drew some real stinkers for me (thanks, pal!), including the Five of Pentacles and the Five of Cups, leaving me with the unenviable choice between shagging grief or poverty 😂. Anyway, you can listen or watch to find out why I think the Five of Pentacles might actually make pretty decent marriage material, as well as why the King of Pentacles is right at the top of my Tarot Shag List. (He’s the ultimate sugar daddy: generous, patient and *nudge nudge wink wink* well-equipped.)

As Molly describes the pod, it’s silly, sweary and very funny, but there’s a deceptively interesting idea underneath the chaos. Molly’s approach to Tarot is rooted in depth psychology, embodiment, mythology and transpersonal psychology, and she uses the cards as mirrors for thinking about ourselves, our relationships and the archetypes that shape our lives. It turns out that deciding which card you’d shag and which you’d merrily yeet from a precipice can tell you rather a lot about yourself!

I’m currently on sabbatical and therefore in full working-on-a-book-in-my-cave-office Bog Witch mode, and watching this back I do rather wish I’d bothered to put on some make-up. Or at least a bra. What can I say, the book is all-consuming. At least I have a kick-ass Tarot t-shirt on!
